Final Blog Post for the 2018-2019 School Year.  We are finally here, the last week of the 2018-2019 school year.  On Thursday & Friday last week, Jen, Nadine, and I had the opportunity to work with the Urban Assembly and Facebook to develop a new partnership around integrating Social Emotional Learning with Career Development.  In particular, we are developing a new course that will launch in the fall with our 9th graders that will introduce students to how technology professionals bring ideas to products.  This new course (the name is still TBD) will introduce students to product development and design thinking, expose them to the wide variety of career paths in science and technology, and provide them with multiple opportunities to see real-world applications of the social-emotional skills they are learning with Ms. Cassandra in her SEL class.  One main objective of this course is to find that spark within each of our students and fan it into flames of inspiration and passion around a variety of career paths in science, technology and engineering.  In so doing, this course will sit as the chief mechanism by which we integrate our newest students into UAI's mission and vision.

As the year comes to a close, we are embarking on an exciting new adventure with a brand new partner.  That is the beauty of the work we do in schools.  It is always changing, never boring, and constantly challenging us to be creative, develop new ideas, and be better each day for our students, their future, and ultimately, through their achievements in the world,  our own.

Congratulations on yet another year well done!  We have worked hard to make it so!  Thank you, and enjoy these last three days of the 2018-19 school year!
