Announcements

NOTE:  Due to no internet access at my sister's new house (for which I am taking a personal day to help her move in), this week's blog will be abbreviated!).  Posting from an iPhone is not my forte.

Successful SLCs.  About 100 family members participated in Student Led, and this week promises that even more of our students will continue to meet with their advisors.  We're still shy of our 80% goal for each advisory, but we still have a week to try to get it in.  Keep at it.  We're at about 36% of the high school having completed with families at present.  So far, the responses from our families has been overwhelmingly positive.  Please make the extra effort to get families in this week.  It has impact for both our kids and our school that goes so much further than the mere 30 minutes they are with us.  Taking the steps to secure parent involvement and partnership in your students' learning is key to their success in your classes!


School Quality Review.  Our school quality review is on Monday 08DEC14.  Your team leaders have been asked to familiarize themselves with the rubric and to support you in understanding the translation between the language of Learning Cultures and that of the Quality Review rubric (here's a one-pager version).  On Wednesday 12NOV, Kelly, Val, Colleen and I will be going through the schools using the rubric to evaluate our current status.  Please work to increasing your fidelity to the LC model and its underlying theories as much as possible for the next few weeks.   "Resources for Reviewers" will provide in-depth information for those who are interested.  Also, the "Principal's Guide" provide more in-depth information.

• Monday 24NOV14. In place of Grade Team and Pods, we'll be having a UAI HS Potluck!  Here are the Assignments:  9th Grade - Sides; 10th Grade - Desserts; 11th/12th Grade- Appetizers.  Admin and Main Office support will be on Main Dishes and Drinks.
• Tuesday and Wednesday 25NOV14 and 26NOV14.  Benchmark II Assessments
• Thursday & Friday 27NOV14 and 28NOV14. Thanksgiving Recess NO SCHOOL
