Principal's Message

We Are Finally Here - CONGRATULATIONS!   Fifteen months ago, we were all thrust into a brand new world of teaching and learning. Since then each and everyone one of you has pushed yourself to learn, grow, and dig deeper than ever before the strength and endurance to support our students and their families.  This enormous labor required an enormous amount of energy and stamina, and each day, each one of you kept digging deep to continually deliver for our students and their families.  

Outside our zoom bubbles, the global pandemic raged on, and many on our staff lost loved ones to this unforgiving virus.  The weight of loss built relentlessly through this last year, and your commitment to our students and their families never once wavered.

In parallel, our students and their families also lived through this crucible of trauma and forced growth and development.  The vast majority of them found ways to thrive in your classes because of your tireless commitment and attention to their success.

This week we wrap up the final week of the 2020-2021 school year. As we feel the joy of seeing our graduates and families revel in the glee of their achievements, take a moment to claim some of that glee for yourselves.   So, begin this week with a deep cleansing breath, shake off the fatigue that relentlessly nipped your heels for the last several weeks, and embrace the joy and celebration of this week as your own, too.  You have all earned it!

Committee Updates

UAI Committee Updates.  The Scheduling & Hiring Committee will continue to meet throughout the summer as they are still finalizing their work.  Stay tuned to this section of the summer blog (which is published every other Sunday beginning 05JUL) for updates.

 

Announcements and To Do

This Week's Activities.  

• 6/7th Grade In-Person students are going to ALL be in room 409 this week.  All In-Person students are welcome but not required to attend in-person classes this week.  All Advisories are remote this week.  6/7th Advisors MUST TAKE ATTENDANCE daily.
• Monday & Tuesday:  6/7th In-Person with Ms. Sarah M in Room 409
• Wednesday & Thursday:  6/7th In-Person with Ms. Pauline in Room 409
  
  
• All Other Staff: Please review your assignments for THIS WEEK.  All staff should plan to be in the building on Tuesday and Thursday ONLY (unless you are on remote accommodations, have regents assignments, or are on gym decoration).  All staff MUST be in the building by 8:30AM for a staff meeting that begins at 8:45AM in the Gym.

• 6/7th on Gd Remote - Take Attendance by 11AM.  Call all who don't respond.
• 8th-12th:  Regents Week - No classes (no attendance taking needed)
• Tuesday - 22JUN21
• 6/7th Grade who are In-Person in Room 409 - join Graduation at 11AM
• 6/7th on Gd Remote - Take Attendance by 11AM.  Call all who don't respond.
• All Staff report by 8:30AM, Staff Meeting in Gym at 8:45AM
• 8th Grade Graduation at 11AM and 1PM
• Last day to for staff to clean out any lockers and secure rooms for summer cleaning.
• ALL Staff TECH and KEYS MUST be returned on TUESDAY to the Main Office (to Nancy)

• Staff Celebration at Randolph Bar after Full Staff Graduation Clean Up! 
  This is purely voluntary.  This is not an official staff party, so we're all paying our own way!  However, ALL are invited and welcome!
• Friday - 25JUN21
• Last Day of School!!!!!!!!!!
• 8:30AM - Final Zoom Staff Meeting of the Year
• 11:00AM - Final Zoom Advisory of the Year (Agenda announced at meeting)

Tech Collection.  We are still missing quite a bit of technology from students.  Please reach out to ALL of your advisees to have them come to school on Monday or Wednesday this week to return their technology.  Please review THIS SHEET to see which of your advisees have already returned their tech.
